Patrick J. Kelly - Director of the Information Center
Patrick Kelly is a Senior Associate at the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS) and serves as Director of the National Information Center for Higher Education Policymaking and Analysis.
Before joining NCHEMS in February 2002, Patrick worked for six years at the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. His most recent position at the council was Senior Associate for Information and Research. He worked with higher education leaders to design performance indicators to measure progress toward postsecondary education reform in Kentucky, conducted research studies for statewide higher education policy initiatives, and coordinated the analysis and reporting of data and information in support of many other council projects. Prior to working at the council, Patrick was a Research Associate at the National Center for Family Literacy in Louisville, Kentucky.
Patrick is working on his Ph.D. in Urban and Public Affairs at the University of Louisville where he also earned a Master's degree in Sociology. His undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His areas of specialization and interest include research and statistical methodology, policy analysis, and program evaluation.
Dennis P. Jones - President of NCHEMS
Dennis Jones is President of the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS), a research and development center founded to improve the management effectiveness of colleges and universities. A member of the staff since 1969, Mr. Jones is widely recognized for his work in such areas as:
- State and institutional approaches to budgeting and resource allocation
- Strategic planning
- Educational needs assessment
- Formulation of state policy
- Information for strategic decisionmaking and the development of educational indicators
Mr. Jones has written many monographs and articles on these topics, has presented his work at many regional, national, and international conferences, and has consulted with hundreds of institutions and state higher education agencies on management issues of all kinds.
Prior to joining NCHEMS, Mr. Jones served as an administrator (in business and in institutional planning) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He received his graduate and undergraduate degree from that institution in the field of engineering management.
John Clark - Research Analyst
John Clark has been a Data Analyst at NCHEMS since March 2000 and provides data analysis and research support for the National Information Center. He previously worked in Boulder, Colorado for PTI Environmental Services and Micro Motion, Inc. where he gained experience in Statistical Analysis, Computer Graphics, and Quality Assurance.
John attended the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, Colorado from 1988-1991 and Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado from 1991-1993, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics.
Linda Keep - Computing Manager and Data Analyst
Linda Keep is the Manager of Computing and Data Resources at NCHEMS and provides data analysis and computer support for the National Information Center. She has been with NCHEMS since 1987. Prior to NCHEMS, she was a Research Assistant at NCBOCES (Northern Colorado Board of Cooperative Educational Services) and a Data Processing Assistant at First America Savings Bank in Longmont, Colorado.
Linda received her Bachelors in Management Information Systems from the University of Northern Colorado.
